There are 5 radio-controlled race cars that race on a special track, meeting the standards of international championships. Kids have a small training track just for them. Additionally, for smaller groups interested, they offer timed races or a set number of laps to test your driving skills. You can find a set, consisting of 9 working points, hundreds of nuts, screws and the famous Czech-made colorful pieces that children have been playing with since 1925. When you were a kid, if you wanted to build something complicated but didn’t have the right parts at home, you could try and you could finally build the big excavator in the Kingdom of Railways Museum. What is in Kingdom of Railways Museum?

There is a giant model railway on the lower floor of the exhibition. Famous sights of Karlovy Vary, Pilsen, Ústí, Liberec, Central Bohemia and the capital Prague are included. The track covers an area of ​​more than 460 m2 and is the largest model track in Central Europe.  You can see the landmarks of regions such as Křivoklát, Karlštejn, Kokořín castles in perfectly made miniatures. You can compare the quality of the model with the real thing at Pilsen Main Station or admire the view of the small springs at Karlovy Vary Colonnade. Adult visitors will witness the details of the lives of the 30,000 inhabitants of the giant railway model, presented in hundreds of situations and scenes from daily life, daily activities, crafts that we see around us. The family-friendly railway operates both day and night. Every twenty minutes, it simulates a full day-night cycle. First, it gradually gets darker, then the street lamps and lights in the windows come on. After five minutes of night, it slowly becomes light again. The modelers have paid close attention to detail, with some streetlights glowing cool white, others warm yellow. Throughout the year, the Kingdom of Railway museum hosts special events, workshops, and themed exhibitions related to railways and model railroading. These events may include model train shows, guest lectures by railway enthusiasts, hands-on workshops for building model railways, and themed exhibitions highlighting specific aspects of railway history or technology. This place is very useful for kids. The entry ticket price seems expensive but it’s worth it, you will spend hours inside. First off there are multiple incredible model railways, extremely impressive. But also you will enjoy the interactive this place is for kids. They have loads of old public transport vehicles that have projections on the windscreens of actual footage of traveling down roads/tunnels etc and the kids can “drive” them. There are many bottoms which are active when you press them, you will hear a real train sound . There are also cars on tracks that you can race by pressing a button, as well as a more advanced remote-controlled car that comes with a proper controller. The seats around the area are repurposed from public transport, adding a nice touch to the setting. Additionally, there is a fun soft play area for children. If your kids enjoy these kinds of activities, you could easily spend half the day  here.

Playing rooms are very attractive, when your kids enter these rooms, you can’t leave them out.  Model cities have been built so detailed that you can examine them, each one offering you a miniaturized version of life. There are tiny buttons in each exhibition area, and when you hang them, you encounter a surprise; each button creates an action in the miniature area. When you press some buttons, you hear the sound of the trains, some buttons move the trains, and some activate the cars passing through the city. At the same time, you can see miniature cities both day and night with the help of lighting.  Wandering around the museum for hours and visiting trains, cars, and miniature exhibitions will tire you, and you may want to take a break at the cafe in the museum, have a snack, and have a coffee break. Of course, the cafe has been restored with train seats and offers you the pleasure of relaxing in a different ambiance. While your children are playing in the playgrounds, you can also spend time by yourself. You can get away from the tiring thoughts in your mind while one of you watches the children and the other one examines the small miniature cities in this magical museum, or you can sit in the cafe and enjoy being alone. The museum is also located in a very nice location. There are many shopping malls, cafes, restaurants and various areas for socializing around. A tram passes right nearby. After spending time in the Kingdom of Railways Museum, you can visit Prague on foot and not waste time in transportation during the city tour.

 Is it good for childs and elderly people?

Kingdom of Railways Museum also takes young children into consideration. For younger children, there are play corners and a game room themed around a recycling line with slides, many interactive elements or a garbage truck model with a body full of balls. Kingdom of Railways Museum has a 600 square-meter model runway. There are dozens of trains, working cars, models of famous castles and major train stations, and 30,000 tiny residents. On the 1st floor, you will see an exhibition. The first three model railways were marked K1, K2 and K3. These pieces represent the first phase of the entire project. They have a total area of ​​115 m2. There is no example in the real world for K3; It represents the image of a small fictional town in the Czech Republic in the 1980s.
